Writers, like mules,
sometimes need a kick start. When it comes down to the hard work of writing,
most of us would rather file our taxes early or clear out closets. The Tuesday
Prompt, both carrot and stick, was created to counter such distractions and provide
the Santiago Writers with inspiration, enthusiasm and a deadline – any reason,
in short, to put away our alibis and our excuses (be they ever so good) pick up
a pencil and START WRITING!
Writers are people
with desk drawers and hard drives overflowing with odds and ends – short
stories and poems and essays that don’t belong anywhere in particular, or bits
and bobs that have served their purpose as inspirations and introductions for
larger works, but that still live on, and need a home.
